A dewormer that is over the counter, making it convenient to use in times of need without a trip to the vet. This liquid solution has a carmel flavor that dogs find highly tasty, so treating your pet is as easy as putting into a feeding bowl. Nemex-2 treats and removes large roundworms and hookworms in dogs and puppies. Roundworms are the most common parasitic worm found inside a dog, and almost all dogs become infected with them at some time in their life, usually as puppies. Roundworms live in a dog's intestines, and while many dogs have no signs of infection, those with major infections, especially puppies will show diarrhea, vomiting, dull hair, weight loss and a potbellied appearance. To best handle this situation when it arises, make sure to keep your dog's living area clean and treat your dog with this oral solution immediately and have a follow-up fecal exam within 2-4 weeks after treatment.
Administer 1 teaspoon (5 mL) for each 10 lb of body weight. It is not necessary to withhold food prior to or after treatment. Dogs usually find this dewormer very palatable and will lick te dose from the bowl willingly. If there is reluctance to accept the dose, mix in a small quantity of dog food to encourage consumption. It is recommended that dogs maintained under conditions of constant exposure to worm infestation should have a follow-up fecal exam within 2-4 weeks after treatment. For maximum control and prevention of reinfestation, it is recommended that puppies be treated at 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 weeks of age. Lactacting females should be treated 2-3 weeks after whelping. Adult dogs kept in heavily contaminated quarters may be treated at monthly intervals to prevent T. canis reinfestation.
